About this book
"Money is the root of all evil"...or is it?
What does "prodigal son" really mean?
In biblical times, would you see a "doctor" when you were sick?
The meanings of many words and phrases contained within the Bible have changed dramatically over time. A "host" from the Bible is certainly not the same host that you would like serving you dessert at a dinner party—in Biblical times, "host" referred to an army. Alternatively, many common, everyday expressions have their roots in the Bible. I NEVER KNEW THAT WAS IN THE BIBLE is a wonderful resource to find the origins and intended meanings for all of these curious words and common expressions from the Bible. Black and white cartoon illustrations add wit to sometimes humorous and always fascinating stories behind the words and phrases. Great for Bible readers, literature students, English teachers, writers, and anyone who loves words.
