About this book

For 102 days the lives of Christian Aid workers, Heather Mercer and Dayna Curry, lay in the hands of the Taliban. If they were found guilty of trying to spread Christianity in Afghanistan they knew there was a possibility they could be put to death. Here, Dayna Curry and Heather Mercer tell the story of their work in Afghanistan, their love for the people they served, their arrest, trial, imprisonment by the Taliban, and their rescue in the midst of war by US Special Forces. The heart of the book discusses how two middle class American women decide to leave the comforts of home in exchange for the opportunity to serve the disadvantaged, and how their faith motivated them and sustained them through the events that followed.
