About this book
Donald Gee writes that he likes fruit, and he mentions the joy of the golden grain that is ready to be harvested, the joy of bountiful orchids, the joy of waiting for the seed that sprouts, over the seasons. "It is not any wonder that autumn is the time of singing," writes Gee in this book which is entitled: "Fruitful or barren? Studies in the fruit of the Spirit." My edition is from 1961. I really liked the approach to Donald Gee: Spirit fall. The accord very well with the words of Jesus that I began this series about the fruits with this that God is glorified when we bear much fruit. We can not get too much of the fruit! It can not be too much of love, too much joy, too much peace, just to mention some. Is there anything we need - read I need - so it's more longsuffering! It can not be too much of it either. Now it is clear with fruit that it takes time for it to heal and to mature. We are in different processes, and the purpose of these processes is that we should bear "more fruit" and "much fruit." In other words, there is a purpose and a goal, when growers cut away branches that do not bear fruit. Sometimes it is very painful, and sometimes it is completely incomprehensible that He should choose just the branch. Jesus says: "Ye have not chosen Me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit. And your fruit should remain ...." Jn 15,16
